After pitching dominated the first six innings, the Lexington Legends broke through with four runs, including two homers, in the bottom of the seventh to beat the Rome Braves 4-1 and sweep their four game series at Applebee's Park.

Starters Kyle Greenwalt of Lexington and Jacob Thompson of Rome each threw six shutout innings before Rome broke through in the seventh. Gerry Rodriguez doubled off Legends reliever Arcenio Leon, advanced to third on an infield out and scored on a wild pitch to give Rome a 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the seventh, Jay Austin reached on an infield single and moved to second on a throwing error by Thompson, his third of the game. Austin was still at second with two out when Phil Disher doubled to deep center field to tie the game. Brandon Barnes and Ebert Rosario then hit back-to-back home runs to make it 4-1. Leon pitched through the eighth, and Danny Meszaros earned his eighth save in as many opportunities by getting the Braves in order in the ninth.

Leon (2-0) got the win, Thompson (0-2) the loss. With the victory, the Legends maintained their one-game lead atop the South Atlantic League Southern Division. Lexington begins an eight-game road trip Saturday night at Augusta. They'll play four against the Green Jackets before moving to Rome for another four-game series with the Braves.
