
BlueClaws Begin Eight-Game Homestand on Tuesday

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Lakewood BlueClaws return home for their third homestand of the season as they begin a stretch of eight straight games at FirstEnergy Park beginning Tuesday night. The homestand will feature a number of new and exciting promotions including a Gold Party, a Pint Glass giveaway, and the BlueClaws first ever Kids Expo. Kids also will eat for free at every BlueClaws game this season, thanks to NJ 101.5 and ShopRite.
On Tuesday, May 5th at 6:35 the BlueClaws welcome the Kannapolis Intimidators (Chicago White Sox) to FirstEnergy Park for their first and only visit all season. At the game, one lucky fan will be selected to win a Haskell Prize Package for a VIP experience at Monmouth Park, New Jersey's biggest horse race. Monmouth Park's most decorated jockey, Joe Bravo, will be at the park as well. Since May 5th is also Cinco de Mayo, the BlueClaws will celebrate with $4 Mexican Beer specials, specials on Mojitos, Margaritas and Mexican food at the Coors Light WRAT Trap. It is also a Senior Day Tuesday, thanks to TD Bank. All seniors will eat for free and everyone can play free Baseball Bingo.
Finally, the BlueClaws will host their first ever Gold Party, presented by NJ Gold Buyers. Fans can bring their gold and receive cash on the spot. NJ Gold Buyers will also make a donation on top of every transaction to BlueClaws Charities.
On Wednesday, May 6th the BlueClaws will host their second of five 11:05 am games. It is an education day for schools to come out and learn and also enjoy a baseball game. The first 2,000 fans 17 and under will also receive a free Oversized Baseball Card of catcher Travis d'Arnaud, courtesy of the Asbury Park Press.
Thursday, May 7th, the BlueClaws play game three of their four game series with Kannapolis at 6:35 pm and the first 2,000 fans aged 18 and older will receive a Pint Glass, courtesy of the Central Jersey Blood Center. Also, like every Thursday, it's a Thirsty Thursday in the Coors Light WRAT Trap. The WRAT Trap is located on the center field concourse and will offer $1 Coors and Coors Light drafts, $1 soda and 50 cent wings.
The BlueClaws wrap up their series with the Intimidators on Friday, May 8th at 7:05. Like every Friday, there will be post-game fireworks presented by Toyota/Scion World of Lakewood. Also, Carl Edwards No. 60 Scott's Miracle Gro NASCAR Nationwide Series car will be in center field. Fans are encouraged to bring a camera and take their picture with the car.
The homestand continues on Saturday, May 9th at 4:05 pm as the BlueClaws open a four-game series with the Hickory Crawdads (Texas Rangers). Saturday is Bark in the Park, presented by 95.9 WRAT and 100.1 WJRZ, as fans are encouraged to bring their dog to the ballpark for the game and also for a dog festival that will begin at 1 pm. There will be a $2 ticket for dogs to enter the park with the proceeds benefitting the Jersey Shore Animal Center in Brick.
On Sunday, May 10th at 1:05 pm, the BlueClaws will host Breast Cancer Awareness Day, thanks to MomsLikeMe.com. The BlueClaws players and coaches will wear special pink jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game with proceeds benefitting the Susan G. Komen Fund. There will be a pre-game survivor walk for local breast cancer survivors. Also, it is a Kids' Character Sunday with an appearance from a special character who will be available for pictures.
Monday, May 11th at 6:35 is the BlueClaws first ever Kids Expo. There will be free laser tag in front of the stadium, thanks to Combat Sports of Manalapan, a special on-field performance from Yosi of 'Yosi and the Superdads' and games and activities inside the park during the game. Additionally, there will be post- game treats, courtesy of Hershey's.
The homestand ends on Tuesday at 6:35 pm and it is a Senior Day Tuesday, thanks to TD Bank. Seniors will eat for free and there will be Baseball Bingo for all fans. It's also Ocean County YMCA Night, with a family Zumba pre-game demonstration outside the park. Finally, kids' character, Reggy will be in attendance and will entertain fans with between-inning performances.

The Lakewood BlueClaws welcomed 425,166 fans to FirstEnergy Park during the 2008 season which upped their eight-season total to 3,595,378. They have led the South Atlantic League in average or overall attendance in each of their eight seasons.
At every BlueClaws game, all children ages 12 and under, will eat for free thanks to NJ 101.5 and ShopRite.
