December 20, 2013 - NBA G League (G League)
Texas Legends News Release

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), traveled to Erie for the first of a double-header against the Bayhawks. Devin Ebanks put up a game-high 35 points but the Legends fell short 101-104.

The Legends closed out the first quarter snagging a 26-23 lead but were outscored 16-24 in the second to make it a close and scrappy game. Ebanks came out of the locker room firing, hitting back-to-back threes to take the Legends up 48-47 but Erie didn't waiver. The Bayhawks controlled the lead for most of the third, but Ebanks connected on four from downtown and the Legends took it 75-72 at the buzzer. The last minute of regulation turned into the perfect storm for Erie as the Legends gained then lost the advantage. Texas looked triumphant with 9.9 seconds down by 1 and holding the ball, but an untimely turnover led to a technical which sealed the Legends' fate and handed Erie their first victory of the season 101-104.

Ebanks went 8-15 from beyond the arc, hitting 7 of those in the second half. The former-Laker also went 7-8 from the foul line, pulled 7 boards, dished out 3 assists and grabbed 4 steals to round out the night. Mavericks' assignee Ricky Ledo added 20 points and 7 rebounds for the Legends, while Melvin Ely and Sean Singletary each posted 15 points and combined for 13 of the team's 44 boards.

The two teams will face each other again tomorrow night at Erie Insurance Arena for the 2nd of the Legends' 6-game road trip prior to the NBA Development League Showcase. The team returns home Jan 11 to host the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. For tickets or information call 214-469-0822 or visit www.TexLegends.com.
