Lexington Legends News Release
The Lexington Legends will welcome the canine crowd to Applebee's Park on two occasions in 2009. The Legends are inviting their fans to bring their dogs to the games on May 16 and June 18 for IncrediPet's "Bark in the Park" days, presented by the Legends, Mix 94.5 and ABC 36. On both dates, the game will begin at 7:05 p.m. The Legends will take on the Savannah Sand Gnats on May 16, when the featured entertainer is Jake the Diamond Dog. The Bowling Green Hot Rods will be the opponent on June 18. Dogs will be allowed in the general admission and lawn areas only. All well-behaved, non-aggressive dogs on leashes are welcome. There is a minimum $1 donation for each dog to enter the park. All proceeds from those donations will go to the Lexington Humane Society.
"It was an easy decision to add an additional Bark in the Park this year,"
said Legends General Manager Andy Shea. "The support we have received from
IncrediPet and the community on this event has been outstanding. I have no
doubt that two Bark in the Parks will equal twice as much participation and
fun!"
Dog owners are also invited to take part in the first Legendary
Canine Contest. Registration and uploading of photos of dogs can be
completed by visiting the Mix 94.5 website
