
Legends Fall Despite 35 Points from Dentmon

Cedar Park, TX (March 3, 2011) - Following a thrilling double overtime victory last night, the Texas Legends fell 132-122 to the Austin Toros on Thursday night at the Cedar Park Center.
Less than 24 hours after his buzzer beating lay up in double overtime to give the Legends the victory, Justin Dentmon started the game on fire with 17 first quarter points.
Moses Ehambe, who knocked down nine three-pointers in last night's contest, began the night by nailing his first two three-pointers and compiling 10 points in the opening period.
Texas dominated the low post early on and used 18 points in the paint in the first quarter to take a 34-29 lead going into the second.
Neither team was able to pull away in the second quarter, as the Toros went into the break on top 65-63.
Dentmon finished the half with 24 points. Ehambe and Leo Lyons dropped in 16 points each in the opening half, while knocking down all six three-pointers they (Ehambe 4-4, Lyons 2-2) took.
The Toros began to run away with the game early in the second half and used a 10-2 run in the middle of the third quarter to extend a four-point lead up to 12 at 88-76. They would lead by as much as 14 in the third and went into the final period on top 99-88.
In the fourth quarter Austin would stretch their lead to as many as 16. However, Texas would not go down without a fight. After trailing 114-100, the Legends went on a 12-5 run to cut the deficit to seven.
Austin though scored the next four points to put their lead back up to 11 with just over two minutes to go and went on to pick up their first win of the season over Texas.
Dentmon led Texas with 35 points, while Joe Alexander added his 19th double-double of the year with 21 points and a season-high 16 rebounds.
After a 34-point performance last night, Lyons poured in a team-high 32 points in the Austin win.
The Legends fell to 18-22 on the season, while the Toros improved their record to 16-22.
Texas will have a week off before getting back in action at home next Wednesday night as they host the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
