Legends End Regular Season with Win over Memphis

FRISCO, TX (Mar. 24, 2018) -The Texas Legends (29-21) defeated the Memphis Hustle (20-29) 111-103 in the final game of the regular season.
Omari Johnson opened the game with a three-ball for the Hustle but the Legends quickly took control and never looked back. Keith Hornsby went off for 13 first-quarter points while Cory Jefferson grabbed 8 rebounds as the Legends outscored the Hustle 27-19. Memphis streaked through nine unanswered points in the second to tie it up, but Texas responded with a 14-2 run and headed into halftime up by nine.
The Legends took their largest lead of the night (+15) in the third, maintaining the double-digit gap heading into the final minutes. Behind a 12-point quarter from Johnson, Memphis outscored Texas in the fourth but the deficit was too much for the visitors to overcome as Texas completed the season sweep 3-0.
Jefferson led the Legends with 32 points, 15 rebounds, and 2 blocks. JJ Avila grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds, and Jameel Warney came off the bench for 13 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and a block.
Johnson led the Hustle with 30 points, 6 rebounds while Chance Comanche (12 points, 15 rebounds) and JJ Frazier (14 points, 10 assists) each grabbed double-doubles.
