MUNICIPAL STADIUM (Hagerstown, MD) - The Lexington Legends traveled to Hagerstown to face the Suns in the first of a three game series. The Legends dropped game one, 8-3 and are now 29-21 in the second half of the season. They remain in first place of the Southern Division.

The Legends plated their first run in the top of the first inning. Kyle Isbel lined a single to right field then moved to second on a fielding error by the Suns. Nick Pratto singled him home him home with a hit to left field and Lexington led 1-0.

The Suns answered in the bottom of the first inning. Armond Upshaw reached on a leadoff single to centerfield. Cole Freeman then sent an RBI single to left field and the game was tied 1-1.

In the bottom of the second inning, Alejandro Flores hit a single to right field then moved to second base when Nick Choruby drew a walk. Upshaw then singled on a groundball to right field, scoring Flores and advancing Choruby to second. Cole Freeman singled to left field, also scoring Choruby and the Suns led 3-1. Jake Scudder was then hit by a pitch. Anderson Franco reached on a fielding error by Lexington's shortstop Jeison Guzman, plating Upshaw and loading the bases for Hagerstown. Omar Meregildo then doubled to right field, scoring two more runs for the Suns. After the second, Hagerstown led 6-1.

Isbel singled to right field in the top of the third inning. Pratto then blasted his 10th home run of the season, and Lexington still trailed 6-3.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Flores smashed his fourth homer of the season to centerfield, extending Hagerstown's lead 7-3.

The Suns struck again in the bottom of the eighth inning. Freeman drew a leadoff walk then moved to third on a single by Anderson Franco. Meregildo then popped up a sacrifice fly to centerfield and Hagerstown led 8-3.

Sam Held was awarded the win for the Suns pitching 6.0 innings allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits while striking out five. Charlie Neuweiler was given the loss tossing 1.1 innings allowing six runs (five earned) while walking one.

The Legends and Suns face off tomorrow, August 16 at 7:05 p.m. Lexington will send LHP JC Cloney (1-0, 2.70 ERA) to the mound to take on LHP Seth Romero (0-1, 4.24 ERA) for Hagerstown.
