Texas Legends News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, (Dec. 11, 2014) - The Texas Legends increased their road record to 5-1 with a big fourth quarter win over the Oklahoma City Blue tonight 106-101.

Damion James knocked down 5-of-6 for 11 points in the first quarter to give the Legends an early lead 27-19. The lead increased in the second to as much as 12 before Josh Huestis, Richard Solomon and Talib Zanna responded to a hard dunk by Renaldo Balkman with back-to-back-to-back dunks of their own. The rejuvenated Blue turned the 12-point deficit to a 7-point lead at the half, outrebounding (10-6) and outshooting (55%-36% overall) the Legends.

The Blue maintained control in the third, increasing their lead to 21 as the Legends fought to come back. The Blue forced Texas to take quick, sloppy shots and kept them shut down from outside. The fourth began with a shootout--double free throws, double shots fired. A technical called on Solomon with 8:25 to play proved to be a turning point for the Legends as they went on a 12-0 run to come within 2. Booker Woodfox grabbed 3 steals off Blue inbound passes and tossed 2 over for 3-point assists, the final going to James to tie up the match with under 1:30 on the clock. James knocked down a second straight from outside in his quest to 14 final quarter points to give the Legends the lead they would carry out.

James led all scorers with 31 points and 8 rebounds. Balkman and Doron Lamb each added 17 and Mavs assignee Ricky Ledo tallied 16 points, 8 boards and 6 assists.

Semaj Christon led the Blue with 18 points while Talib Zanna and Thunder assignee Mitch McGary followed closely with 17 and 16 respectively.

The Legends will return home to host the Delaware 87ers on Friday, Dec. 19th at 7pm. The game will be broadcast live on both television--KTXD47--and radio--KVCE 1160am--as well as online at www.texlegends.com.
