(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) Ethan Chapman's double scored Nic Cuckovich with the tie-breaking run in the bottom of the eighth inning, and the Lexington Legends went on to a 7-4 victory over the Augusta GreenJackets Sunday.

The win ended the Legends losing streak at five games.

Augusta scored a run in the top of the first inning, but the Legends came back with three in the bottom half. Leadoff man Terrance Gore was hit by a pitch and Raul Mondesi and Bubba Starling both walked. A wild pitch allowed Gore to score, and Mondesi and Starling came home on a two-out single by Humberto Arteaga.

The GreenJackets took a 4-3 lead with three runs in the top of the fourth. Singles by Mitch Delfino and Ben Turner and a sacrifice fly by Rafael Rodriguez produced a run. Chuckie Jones followed with a single, moving Turner to second. Turner scored the tying run and Jones moved to third as Andrew Cain reached on an error by shortstop Raul Mondesi. A balk committed by Legends starter Aroni Nina allowed Jones to score the go-ahead run.

Starling brought the Legends even in the fifth with his third home run of the year.

The score remained 4-4 until the bottom of the eighth. With one out, Cuckovich singled and Alex Marquez walked. Chapman followed with a double down the left field line, scoring Cuckovich with the tie-breaker. Marquez scored on a wild pitch, and Chapman came home on a single by Gore.

Chas Byrne (1-0), making his first appearance as a Legend, relieved Nina in the fifth and pitched three scoreless innings to get the win. Byrne, the grandson of former major league pitcher Tommy Byrne, missed the entire 2012 season due to an elbow injury.

Augusta reliever Derek Law (0-1) was the losing pitcher.

Augusta has won two of three in the series, which concludes Monday. Game time at Whitaker Bank Ballpark is 10:05 a.m.
