
Legends Blank BlueClaws in Game One

FIRSTENERGY PARK (Lakewood, NJ) - The Lexington Legends shutout the Lakewood Blueclaws in the first of a four-game series in New Jersey, 4-0. With the victory, the Legends move into first place in the Southern Division and are 0.5 games ahead of the Greenville Drive.
After three perfect innings by the Blueclaws, Kyle Isbel broke up their perfect game bid in the top of fourth inning with a single to right field. He then moved to third on a single to center field by Cristian Perez. Nick Pratto singled home Isbel and the Legends led 1-0.
In the top of the fifth inning, Cal Jones hit a leadoff single to centerfield then advanced to second on sacrifice bunt by Marten Gasparini. Ricky Aracena brought home Jones on a double to left field. Isbel then smacked an RBI single to left field, extending Lexington's lead 3-0.
The Legends plated their final run of the game in the top of the seventh. Gasparini led off with a double to centerfield. Isbel then doubled him home and Lexington held on to shutout the Blueclaws, 4-0.
Yefri Del Rosario earned his second victory of the season pitching 6.0 shutout innings allowing four hits while walking one and striking out two. Will Stewart was given the loss tossing 5.0 innings allowing three runs on six hits while striking out six.
The Legends and Blueclaws face off for game two tomorrow, August 3 at 7:05 p.m. RHP Charlie Neuweiler (2-0, 2.53 ERA) will be on the mound for Lexington and Lakewood will send LHP David Parkinson (0-1, 2.70 ERA).
