FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), extended their win streak by fending off the Austin Toros 106-97. Devin Ebanks and Terrel Harris combined for 97 points on the weekend to close out their homestand 2-0.

The game stayed close with the largest lead being 14 over the Toros. Ricky Ledo started the Legends off on the right foot hitting 9 points in the first quarter, but Austin's Josh Howard had an answer for each, leading the Toros with 10. The two teams battled to the rim but the Legends out-rebounded the Toros 44-37 and held the advantage at each buzzer. The strength of the Legends bench pushed them to yet another victory as Mickey McConnell came in for 19 points. McConnell fired 15 in the second quarter alone helping to boost the Legends' advantage to 7 going into halftime. The Legends pulled ahead by 14 in both the third and final quarters, but the Toros always managed to cut the lead matching the Legends with 26 points in the final 12 minutes.

The game extended the Legends' win-streak to 3 and pushed them through their final weekend homestand before the holidays. The Legends remain undefeated at 5-0 when holding their opponents to less than 100. Ledo led the Legends in scoring with 22 points while also adding 9 rebounds. McConnell added 19, closely followed by Melvin Ely and Ebanks with 17 and 16 respectively. Flip Murray came off the bench to lead the Toros with 22 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Eric Dawson posted the game's only double-double grabbing 17 points and 18 boards.

Tonight's game was also a celebration of a local organization working to aid the metroplex. CitySquare has been battling poverty and homelessness in Dallas since 1988 and has grown into a multi-service organization that helps over 50,000 unduplicated neighbors each year. The Legends wore special jersey customized with the CitySquare logo and an outline of the Dallas skyline to build awareness for an organization that gives so much to our community.

The Legends' Dr Pepper Dream Maker series continued with a local family attending their first Legends' game together. Ivonne Burgos, along with her husband and three children, was sent to the Legends by friends who knew the family was going through tough times. Texas Legends Care was wanted to help make this Christmas special with an evening they would remember forever. The Burgos' enjoyed a VIP experience as the Legends hosted the Toros and were taken on a behind-the-scenes tour of the locker room for an exclusive meet-and-greet with their favorite Legend/Maverick Ricky Ledo. Ledo spoke with the Burgos' son, giving advice on basketball and life, and came prepared with gifts for the entire clan.
