
66ers Come up Short on the Road

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Tulsa 66ers fell to the Sioux Falls Skyforce, 101-94, on Saturday night at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
All five 66ers starters scored in double figures as Mario Little led the way with 23 points and five rebounds. Rodney Bartholomew picked up his second double-double in as many nights with 13 points, 12 boards and three steals.
Ben Uzoh distributed seven assists and swiped three steals to go along with 14 points. Larry Owens posted 12 points, six boards, three assists and three blocked shots while Grant Jerrett scored 10 points with two rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
After falling into a 12-0 deficit to start Friday's contest against Sioux Falls, the 66ers (1-9) opened Saturday's game on a 17-8 run before finishing the opening quarter with a 29-22 lead.
The Skyforce (6-2) outscored Tulsa 22-14 in the second to take a 44-43 lead into halftime - a lead they would not surrender the remainder of the game.
With Tulsa within three points of Sioux Falls at 63-60 midway through the third, the Skyforce went on a 14-6 run to propel them to a 77-66 lead early in the fourth.
The 66ers got within seven points on a layup by Uzoh with 3:05 on to the clock to make it 89-84. After Sioux Falls scored four consecutive points the 66ers went on a 4-0 run of their own to get within two possessions with 50 seconds to go.
The Skyforce extended their lead to seven with 21 seconds remaining on a shot from Bill Walker. Uzoh responded three seconds later with a make of his own, but the Skyforce were able to put the game away at the foul line, sinking five of six free throws in the final 17 seconds.
Justin Hamilton led Sioux Falls with 22 points and 12 rebounds.
Tulsa forced 23 turnovers on the night, including 11 off of steals, while blocking eight shots.
