October 29, 2010 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
Montreal Juniors News Release

Montreal, October 29th, 2010The Montreal Juniors completed a 3 game road trip tonight by defeating the Drakkar in Baie Comeau, the team with the league's worst record. The Juniors completely dominated the shots on goal total but ended the first period with only a one goal lead. Trevor Parkes got things going by scoring his 5th of the season almost half way through the first, and under 3 minutes later, Dylan Anderson added to the Juniors lead by scoring his 2nd of the year. With the Drakkar still being dominated on shots at that point, Mikael Langlois brought some life and his team back into the game with his 2nd of the season to complete the scoring in the first period.

The story continued in the second period with the Juniors once again completely dominating on the shot total. Louis Leblanc's 9th of the season scored on a powerplay was the second period's lone goal. Down by a score of 3-1, the Drakkar found a way to get back into the game with 2 very late tallies. First Mikael Langlois scored his 2nd of the game on a power-play at 18:10, and Frdrick Gamelin scored the equalizer just 40 seconds later. Gamelin finished the night with 3 points and participated on all of his team's goals.

No goal was scored in the overtime and the Juniors ended the night with a 36-17 advantage on the shot total. It was once again Louis Leblanc who scored the only shootout goal to give his team the victory.

With a perfect 3 game road trip and a current 4 game winning streak, the Juniors come back home next Friday on November 5th to begin a series of 3 games in 3 days, starting with the highly anticipated matchup with the Quebec Remparts at 7:00pm. It will be part of a home and away game with the 2nd game to be held in Quebec City on Saturday night. The Juniors will then complete the 3 game weekend by hosting the Baie-Comeau Drakkar with an afternoon affair starting at 3pm at the Verdun Auditorium.
