
MAINEiacs Move on to Third Round

The MAINEiacs won Game 6 of their series against the Montreal Juniors by a 6 to 3 score, clinching the best-of-seven series four games to two.
In the first period, Lewiston's Jess Tanguy opened the scoring with his second goal of the playoffs. Louis Leblanc would reply for Montreal with his sixth marker of the post season. However, only twenty-five seconds later, MAINEiacs forward Pierre-Olivier Morin scored his third of the playoffs, once more giving his team a one goal lead.
In the second frame, Montreal's Nicolas Chouinard scored his third of the post season to tie the game, but Lewiston's Stefan Fournier found the back of the net in the final minutes of the period with his second goal of the playoffs.
In the third period, Lewiston's Pierre-Olivier Morin scored his fourth goal of the playoffs, followed by teammate Stefan Fournier's third of the post season. Shortly thereafter, Montreal captain Nicolas Chouinard gave hope once more to his team with a short handed goal in the final minutes of the period, his fourth of the playoffs, but Michael Chaput sealed the win for Lewiston with an empty net goal, his seventh of the post season.
Kirill Kabanov of the MAINEiacs picked up two assists.
Between the pipes, Montreal goaltender Jean-François Bérubé stopped 32 of 37 shots, while at the other end of the ice, Nicholas Champion turned aside 36 of the 39 shots he faced. Stefan Fournier (LEW), Pierre-Olivier Morin (LEW) and Jess Tanguy (LEW) were respectively named first, second and third stars of the game.
