
Lewiston Wins Thriller During Final Seconds

The Lewiston MAINEiacs beat the Montreal Juniors by a 2 to 1 score during Game 3 of their best-of-seven series, taking a two games to one lead.
After a scoreless first period, Montreal's Trevor Parkes opened the scoring in the final minutes of the second period with his fifth of the playoffs. However, Lewiston's reply came just 45 seconds later, when Samuel Carrier scored his second of the playoffs, sending the teams back to the locker room tied at one.
In the third period, Lewiston's �tienne Brodeur's late game heroics clinched the win for his team, as he found the back of the net with only five seconds remaining on the clock. It was his third of the playoffs.
Kirill Kabanov of the MAINEiacs picked up two assists.
Juniors goalie Jean-François Bérubé turned aside 17 of the 19 shots he faced, while at the other end of the ice, Nicholas Champion stopped 28 of the 29 pucks fired his way. �tienne Brodeur (LEW), Nicholas Champion (LEW) and Samuel Carrier (LEW) were respectively named first, second and third stars of the game.
Game 4 of the series takes place tomorrow night in Lewiston, with a 7:00pm start.
