
League Office Announces Disciplinary Action For Eastern Conference

Saskatoon Blades News Release
The Western Hockey League announced their disciplinary action for the on-ice altercations that occurred in the final minute of Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarter Final Sunday March 21st in Saskatoon. The incident occurred following a charging major by Rebels right winger Josh Cowen on Blades netminder Steven Stanford. A multi player fight involving Blades Randy McNaught, Sena Acolatse, Darian Dziurzynski and Duncan Siemens ensued on the following puck drop. All four Blades players were issued game suspensions for their actions. The Blades General Manager & Head Coach Lorne Molleken was also handed a 4 game suspension for the incident.
The Western Hockey League has also fined the Saskatoon Blades organization a total of $4,250.00. A complete breakdown of the Western Hockey League's disciplinary actions is listed below:
Josh Cowen (Red Deer) 4 games for Charging major and game misconduct
$250 for warm-up violation vs. Saskatoon
Randy McNaught 5 games for instigator, fight and game misconduct
Sena Acolatse 3 games for instigator, fight and game misconduct
Darian Dziurzynski 3 games for one man fight and game misconduct
Duncan Siemens 3 games for instigator, fight and game misconduct
Lorne Molleken 4 games for game misconduct
$250 for warm-up violation versus Red Deer
$500 for second multiple fight of season
$3,500 for actions of Club versus Red Deer
Games 3 & 4 of the Blades & Rebels Eastern Conference Quarter-Final will take place Wednesday March 24th and Thursday March 25th at the Enmax Centrium in Red Deer, AB. Tune into 92.9FM the Bull for Blades play-by-play action. Puck drop is slated for 7pm with pre-game show at 6:30pm.
