Rockford Aviators News Release

SAUGET, IL - The Frontier League has announced the 24-man rosters for each division for the 2014 Frontier League All-Star Game and the Rockford Aviators, presented by Pearson, are proud to announce that pitchers Joey Wagman and Gerardo Sanchez have been named to the West Division All-Star Team.

Wagman, a starting pitcher from San Ramon, California will be making his first professional All-Star appearance this season.

In eight starts this season, Wagman holds a 4-2 record with a 3.29 ERA. He also ranks second in the Frontier League with 58 strikeouts.

Wagman will be joined by teammate and closer Gerardo Sanchez, who will also be appearing in his first professional All-Star Game.

Sanchez has been nearly perfect for the Aviators this season as the team's closer. The Las Cruces, New Mexico native has recorded eleven saves in twelve attempts, ranking him third in the Frontier League, and has an ERA of 1.69 in 21 appearances.

There is a possibility that another member of the Aviators could make the All-Star Game. The manager of the first-place team in the West Division at the time of the All-Star Break will be allowed to make three more selections for his roster.

The 2014 Frontier League All-Star Game will be played on Wednesday, July 16 at GCS Ballpark, home of the Gateway Grizzlies, in Sauget, IL. For ticket information, contact the Grizzlies ticket office at (618) 337-3000.
