Six Rascals have been named to the 2014 Frontier League West All-Star Team. River City is pleased to announce that Saxon Butler, Hector Crespo, Johnny Morales, Taylor Ard, Josh Ludy, and Gabriel Shaw have all been selected as part of the 2014 Frontier League West All-Star Team:
Saxon Butler: First-year Rascal, and former AA Yankee, Saxon Butler was named the starting first-baseman for the West All-Star Team. Butler is currently hitting .271 with five Homeruns and 39 RBI, which is the second most runs batted in in the West.
Hector Crespo: First-year Rascal, and former AAA Yankee, Hector Crespo was named the starting second-baseman for the West All-Star Team. Crespo, who has played in every game this season at second-base for River City, is hitting near three-hundred at .295 with one Homerun, 15 driven in, and a league-leading 21 Stolen Bses.
Johnny Morales: The second-year Rascals shortstop Johnny Morales makes his first Frontier League All-Star Team in 2014. He will serve as the backup shortstop for the West behind Gateway's Michael Wing. Morales is having a career-year as he is third in the Frontier League in Batting Average at .363 with eight Extra-Base Hits and 13 RBI.
Taylor Ard: First-year Rascal, and former Seattle Mariners' farmhand, Taylor Ard was named the starting third-baseman for the 2014 West All-Star Team. Not only does Ard have a .339 Batting Average with six Homeruns and 26 Runs Batted In, but he also leads the Frontier League in At-Bats and sits second in Hits with 61.
Josh Ludy: Former Philly, and first-year Rascal, Josh Ludy was chosen as the starting catcher for the West.
