Lazar and Jarry Invited to U18 Camp

Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings are proud to congratulate forward Curtis Lazar and goaltender Tristan Jarry on their invites to Canada's National Men's Summer Under-18 Team selection camp, Aug. 3-6 in Toronto.

Lazar and Jarry are among the 40 players selected for camp with a total of four goaltenders, 12 defencemen and 24 forwards. The camp roster includes 17 players from the Ontario Hockey League, 13 from the Western Hockey League and 10 from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Lazar and Jarry both participated in the 2012 World U-17 Hockey Challenge for Team Pacific last season. They were also teammates in 2011 at the Canada Winter Games as members of the gold medal winning Team BC.

In total 36 of the invitees competed at the 2012 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. Last year, Canada's National Men's Under-18 Team won a bronze medal at the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship.

Of the 40 players who have been invited to the selection camp, 22 will be selected for Canada's National Men's Summer Under-18 Team, which will play in the 2012 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka tournament, scheduled for August 13-18 in Piestany, Slovakia and Breclav, Czech Republic.
