
Needham Invited to U-18 Selection Camp

Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers will have forward Matt Needham at the Canada's National Men's Summer U-18 Selection Camp in Toronto from August 3 - 6. Needham, who turned 17 in April, will join 39 other top players in the selection camp for the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament in Slovakia and the Czech Republic from August 13 - 18.
Needham completed this last season with the Blazers playing in 61 games and recording 12 goals, 22 assists and 34 points. He was the highest scoring 16-year-old for the Blazers since Micki Dupont had 35 points during the 1996-97 season. Needham was solid for the Blazers during the playoffs putting up 7 points in 11 games.
The 5'10" Penticton, BC native represented Team Pacific in the 2012 U-17 World Challenge this past December and January. He recorded two points in five games.
