Josh Morrissey Invited to Under-18 Camp

Prince Albert SK - Prince Albert Raider defenceman Josh Morrissey has been invited to Canada's National Men's Summer Under-18 Team selection camp, taking place on August 3-6 in Toronto, Ontario.

Morrissey is will join 39 of the top players in Canada to vie for a spot on the team that will represent Canada at the 2012 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament, where the Red and White will drive for their fifth consecutive gold medal.

The Calgary, Alberta product is 1 of only 4 camp invitees to have represented Canada at the World Under-18 Championships in April, where he recorded 3 assists in a bronze medal effort. He also represented Team Pacific at the 2012 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in January, scoring a goal and an assist in 5 games.

In 68 games with the Raiders last season, Morrissey scored 10 goals and totaled 38 points, setting the franchise record for most points by a 16-year-old defenceman in the process. The Raiders Rookie of the Year led the defence core in assists, with 28, and power play goals, with 5.

The Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament will take place on August 13-18 in Piestany, Slovakia and Breclav, Czech Republic.
