Cedar Park, TX - The Texas Stars announced on Sunday that the team has assigned forward Nick Layton to the Allen Americans, Texas' Central Hockey League affiliate.
In multiple stints this season, the 23-year old has played in five games for Texas and has yet to pick up his first AHL point. In mid-February, Layton made his AHL debut. The rookie has played in 54 games for the Allen Americans of the CHL this season. During his time with the Americans, Layton scored 13 goals and added 26 assists for 39 points.
On Monday, the Stars conclude a seven-game home stand with Abbotsford at 7:30 p.m. Monday's game is an H-E-B Night, as fans may bring non-perishable H-E-B products to the box office for a $5.00 discount on their tickets. Texas starts a three-game road trip on Friday, March 23rd at Oklahoma City at 7:00 p.m. The Stars then travel to Toronto for a 3:00 p.m. faceoff against the Marlies on Sunday, March 25th. The trip concludes on Tuesday, March 27th at 6:00 p.m. against the Lake Erie Monsters.
