EVERETT, Wash. - The AquaSox scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, but came up one run short in a 5-4 loss to the Vancouver Canadians on Thursday, July 16, at Everett Memorial Stadium. Braden Bishop went 2 for 5 and scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth.

Down 5-1 entering the ninth, Ryan Uhl stepped up to pinch hit with the bases loaded. He didn't need to add to his .400 batting average against left-handed pitching, though, because he walked to score a run and make it 5-2. Logan Taylor also walked to score another run for the Frogs.

Now down 5-3, Corey Simpson stepped up to bat. New pitcher Turner Lee fired home a wild pitch that allowed the speedy Braden Bishop to score from third. Simpson hit a broken-bat grounder to shortstop a few pitches later, but the play ended up catching Ryan Uhl at the plate instead of Simpson. Yojhan Quevedo flied out to end the game 5-4.

Everett had gotten on the board first in the second inning, when Conner Hale lined a double into left field to score Yordi Calderon. AquaSox reliever Dylan Silva came on in relief to start the seventh inning and went three up, three down for the final three frames, finishing with a pair of stirkeouts, too. Vancouver's pitchers dealt 10 walks to the AquaSox hitters.
