COLUMBIA, S.C.- The Columbia Blowfish scored two runs in the eighth to top the Thomasville HiToms 4-2 in Historic Capital City Stadium Thursday night. The win combined with a Gastonia loss puts the Blowfish in first place in the west division second half.

The Blowfish scored two runs in the bottom of the first after a forty-five minute rain delay. The first run came on a Gabe Loweree sacrifice fly to right field to score Michael Wilson. Zach Smith then singled to left to score Joshua Miller.

After the rain delay Blowfish starting pitcher Wyatt Brown remained in the game going five innings giving up two runs, on seven hits while striking out three. The HiToms got their runs in the third and fourth innings scoring a single run in each.

The Blowfish finally were able to break the tie in the eighth on a two out two RBI single to left from Luke Dunlap to score Miller and Graham Saiko. The HiToms would get a runner on in the ninth but could not get any more offense against Joshua Knab who got the save for the Blowfish.

Zack Russell-Myers pitched in relief for the Blowfish going two innings and giving up just two hits while striking out one. Connor Sullivan then pitched the eighth and getting a strikeout to earn the win for the Blowfish. Robert McIntosh took the loss for the HiToms.
