
Late Homer Sinks WhiteWings in Game 2 of Doubleheader

HARLINGEN - Landon Camp homered in the top of the seventh inning to lead the San Angelo Colts past the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings 4-3 in Game 2 of a doubleheader on Thursday at Harlingen Field.
Camp's home run, his 10th of the season, came with one out against Mickey Cassidy (2-1).
Sean Kramer pitched a scoreless bottom of the seventh for his eighth save.
Leivi Ventura led off the bottom of the second against Alex Casillas with his 10th home run of the season to give the WhiteWings (26-21) a 1-0 lead.
Wilmer Pino hit his fourth home run with two outs in the fourth to make it 2-0.
The Colts (29-16) broke through against Alexander Concepcion in the top of the fifth. With one out Andrew Riddick doubled, and one batter later, Cory Patton hit an RBI-double to make it 2-1.
Jason Crosland walked to started the top of the sixth and knock out Concepcion. Juan Cedeno came on, and after recording the first out, allowed a single to Danny Hernandez. Riddick followed with a grounder to short that was thrown into right field on the throw to second, allowing Crosland to score. Ronnie Gaines followed with a go-ahead RBI-single to make it 3-2.
The WhiteWings put runners at first and second with two outs in the bottom of the inning to set-up a game-tying single by Pino against Patton (1-0).
The WhiteWings and Colts complete this four-game series on Fan Fly-Away Friday, presented by Allegiant Air and McAllen International Airport at 7:05 p.m. One lucky fan will win two round-trip tickets on Allegiant Air. Right-hander Eric Blackwell (3-2, 2.64) is expected to face left-hander Logan Williamson (7-0, 4.29). Gates open at 6:05.
