Late Errors Cost Skeeters, Fall 7-5 in Series Finale

The Skeeters lost their fourth game in a row for the first time all season, falling 7-4 Thursday night. The Skeeters jumped out to a 2-0 lead after Adam Godwin's homerun in the first inning. Lancaster would tie the game at 2-2 on RBI base hits from Jerry Owens and Ryan Harvey. Koby Clemens did his best to give the Skeeters the lead, as he homered in the fourth inning to put Sugar Land ahead 3-2. That margin wouldn't last long as Gustavo Molina hit a solo homer of his own and knotted the game back up 3-3. Then with two outs and a runner on first Aaron Bates doubled into the right center gap to take give the Skeeters a 4-3 lead. Sugar Land would turn to Roberto Giron to finish things off, but he allowed a run in the eighth on a Blake Gailen double that Adam Godwin almost tracked down tying the game at 4-4 . Then in the tenth the Skeeters made two errors and allowed three runs to fall behind 7-4, before going on to lose 7-5.

Up Next : The Skeeters head to Connecticut to begin a three-game series with Bridgeport. The Skeeters will send out RHP Clint Everts (3-2, 1.68 ERA) to face off against RHP Josh Butler (3-6, 4.78 ERA) for Bridgeport.
