Sugar Land Space Cowboys News Release
The Skeeters trying to break a season high four-game losing streak on Friday Night faced the Bridgeport Bluefish in game one of a three-game set and won 5-3. It was scoreless until Yusuf Carter lead off the third inning with a homerun, to make it 1-0 Bluefish. Koby Clemens homered to start the fourth though, his 17th of the year which sets a new single season standard for Sugar Land, and the game was knotted at 1-1. The Skeeters added two more in the fifth and sixth to take a 5-1 lead. A homerun by James Simmons brought the Bluefish within 5-2 and a run in the ninth would make it 5-3, but that would be as close as they would get and lose by that final.
Up Next: In game two of this three-game set Sugar Land sends out RHP Greg Aquino (5-2, 4.08) vs. LHP Hunter Jones (5-9, 4.70) for Bridgeport.
