Idaho Stampede News Release

BOISE, Idaho (January 12, 2007) - C.J. Miles arrived only twelve hours earlier on an NBA assignment from the Utah Jazz, but his debut sounded sweet with a tip in at the buzzer to give the Idaho Stampede a 101-99 win over the Bakersfield Jam. Miles finished with 15 points off the bench.

The game went down to the wire, as there were 11 lead changes in the final 5:15 of the contest. Idaho's Peter Ramos threw down a monster dunk with 2:50 left to give Idaho a one point lead, which was quickly given up on a Tony Bobbitt lay up for Bakersfield.

In the final minute of the game, in was Miles' time to shine. Miles scored the Stampedes' final five points of the game, a three pointer with under a minute left in the game to give Idaho the lead, and the final tip in to seal the victory.

"It was a great way to be welcomed here in Boise," said Miles after the game. "We were just trying to get the ball up on the rim and hoped it would go in."

Ronell Taylor tied a team high with 22 points and added seven rebounds. Ramos also finished with 22 points and snagged eight rebounds. Jeff Graves pounded the glass with 15 rebounds and put up 20 points. Mouhamed Sene, in his first game on NBA assignment as well from the Seattle SuperSonics, snatched eight rebounds off the bench for Idaho.

Tony Bobbitt led the Jam with a game-high 30 points off the bench, while Kevinn Pinkney and Brandon Bowman both had 16 points.

The game was tight throughout, with 22 lead changes and 14 ties for the game. Idaho pounded the ball down low, finishing with a colossal 24 total rebound, and points in the paint advantage over Bakersfield.

Idaho stays at home to face the Sioux Falls Skyforce tomorrow night, while Bakersfield travels to Sioux Falls to face Arkansas during the MLK D-League Showcase on Tuesday.
