Omaha Lancers News Release
Lancers top Gamblers, 5-2
Ralston, NE - The Omaha Lancers returned to the ice for game two of the doubleheader weekend against the Green Bay Gamblers on Saturday.
Right out of the gate the Lancers got on the board when Christian O'Neill found the loose out front of the net and put it past Jake Begley. Minutes later, Green Bay answered back when Jesse Jaques beat Zach Driscoll to tie the game 1-1. As the period continued, Cole Gallant got the Lancers out front with a goal on the power play to give the Lancers a 2-1 the lead heading into the first intermission.
The Lancers continued to be productive on the power play. Brendan Furry got his 3rd goal of the season when he snuck the puck past Begley to give the Lancers a 3-1 lead in the second period.
Zach Driscoll did not return to the net for the third period and was replaced by Vinnie Purpura. Fifty seconds into the period, Cole Gallant got his second of the night. Green Bay continued the attack when Brock Caufield snapped one past Purpura to get the Gamblers within 2 goals. Green Bay pulled Begley for the extra attacker and the Lancers capitalized on the opportunity when Cam Reagan got his first goal of the season as he dupped the puck and it rolled from end-to-end into the net for a final score of 5-2. The Lancers improve to 5-6-1 on the season after Saturday nights game.
The Lancers return to home ice Friday, November, 22nd to face the Cedar Rapids Roughriders at 7:05 pm. Friday is also "Guns N' Hoses" night at Ralston Arena. Tickets are still available, visit the Ralston arena box office for more information. That game will be broadcasted on News Talk 1290 and Hockey TV.
