Lancers Take Overtime Win, 3-2

Omaha, Neb. - The Stars took their first overtime loss of the season, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Omaha Lancers on Friday night at Ralston Arena.

The Stars opened the scoring on the power play at 12:09 of the first period when Ryan Jones intercepted a clearing attempt and fired a slap shot past Lancers goalie Kris Oldham.

Lincoln took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

Patrick Polino stretched the Stars lead to 2-0 at 14:08 of the second period, beating Oldham with a wrist shot into the top right corner of the net.

The Lancers would cut the lead to 2-1 at 18:42 of the second when Brian Williams scored on a rebound for his eighth goal of the season.

Omaha found the equalizer at 15:23 of the third period with Josh French's wrist shot from the slot.

The teams finished regulation tied 2-2, putting the Stars in overtime for the fifth time this season.

Mitch Perrault broke the tie in the final seconds of overtime to make it a 3-2 final.

Jones finished with 26 saves.
