Muskegon, MI - The Muskegon Lumberjacks split the weekend series with the Bloomington Thunder, after falling 6-3 tonight at L.C. Walker Arena.
The Lumberjacks set the tone early, outshooting the Thunder 9-2 in the first ten minutes of play. However, it was the Thunder scoring first, when Logan Lamdin wristed a shot from the left hand corner to give Bloomington a 1-0 lead.
After the first intermission, the Thunder quickly doubled their lead, when Tarek Baker chipped in a rebound to give Bloomington a 2-0 advantage.
The Lumberjacks would respond midway through the second period. Max Humitz chased down a Nate Kallen shot, and ripped home the rebound to cut the Lumberjacks deficit to one. Bloomington's Baker would add a power play goal to give the Thunder a 3-1 lead. However, late in the second period, Rem Pitlick rifled home a wrist shot, to cut the deficit to one, after two periods of play.
The Thunder started the third period with two quick goals from Lamdin, to give Bloomington a 5-2 lead. Collin Adams netted a power play goal late in the third period, but it was not enough, as Muskegon fell to Bloomington 6-3.
