Lancaster sneaks by Ducks

Long Island Ducks News Release
(Central Islip, NY) - The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Lancaster Barnstormers 3-1 on Saturday night in front of a past-capacity crowd of 6,302 at Bethpage Ballpark.
Javier Colina got the scoring going with a RBI single to left field in the third inning against Barnstormers' starter Matt Wright. Lancaster stormed right back on Tommy Everidge's solo homer in the fourth off Ducks' starter Mike Loree to tie the game at one. It stayed that way until the seventh when Matt Tupman's run-scoring double to left gave the âStormers the lead, and another run in the eighth on Aaron Herr's sac fly rounded out the scoring.
Wright (3-8) got the win after pitching six innings, allowing one run on five hits while striking out four. Loree (13-3) was the hard luck loser despite allowing just two runs on seven hits in seven innings. Jonah Bayliss earned his 12th save with a scoreless ninth.
Colina led the team with two hits at the plate.
The Ducks continue their three-game series with the Lancaster Barnstormers on Sunday evening. Game time is slated for 5:05 PM, with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 4:05. The first 1,500 fans through the gates will receive Baseball Card Sets, courtesy of Nicolock Paving Stones. Fans will also be invited onto the field for a pre-game autograph session with the Ducks as well as after the game for Kids Run the Bases, presented by Bethpage Federal Credit Union.
