Tri-City Storm News Release
KEARNEY - The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League announced on Wednesday that 2006-07 team captain Mario Lamoureux has committed to play college hockey at Northern Michigan University.
Lamoureux, a third-year Storm player, will join Northern Michigan for the 2007-08 season. The Wildcats are members of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association where last season they finished fourth in the 12-team conference.
Lamoureux has played in 120 games during a Storm career that began during the 2004-05 season. In those games he has scored 21 goals and 34 assists for 55 points and has 205 penalty minutes. This season he has a goal in four games played.
"Mario is one of our most experienced players and still one of the youngest on our team," said Storm general manager and head coach, Bliss Littler. "He has many roles for us and this year, as well as last, he has been one of our leaders. Northern Michigan is getting a very good hockey player and an outstanding kid."
