Vermont Lake Monsters News Release
BURLINGTON, VT --- The Lake Monsters will try and help "strikeout" Breast Cancer on Wednesday, August 2nd with "Pretty In Pink" Night at historic Centennial Field when Vermont hosts the Staten Island Yankees.
The Lake Monsters, and Sponsor S.D. Ireland Construction, will use Wednesday's night game to try and help raise awareness of Breast Cancer by selling pink ribbons and carnations. The Lake Monsters players will also wear pink jerseys during that night's 7:05 pm game against the Yankees.
In addition, fans in attendance on Wednesday (and Thursday's homestand finale with Staten Island) can sign up to donate money for each strikeout by a Vermont pitcher from August 2nd through the end of a Lake Monsters roadtrip on Tuesday, August 8th at Lowell. All money raised through the "strikeout-athon" and the selling of the team-worn pink jerseys will be donated to the American Cancer Society and the S.D. Ireland Cancer Research fund.
