Lake Elsinore Storm Lose Power in Game 2 of Series
April 14, 2022 - California League (CalL)
Lake Elsinore Storm News Release
For the second straight night, the Lake Elsinore Storm were left searching for answers on offense. One night after collecting just 6 base hits, they accrued just 3 knocks for 2 runs. In a 7-2 loss to the Visalia Rawhide, the Storm could not muster any offensive production. Every hit came from the last 3 batters in the lineup with top prospects Jackson Merrill and Max Ferguson going a combined 0-7.
Following the Rawhide hitting a first inning home run, the Storm quickly grabbed the lead in the bottom of the second after Carlos Luis hit an RBI single and Ferguson walked in a run with the bases loaded. The lead did not last long as the Rawhide hit another home run off the right-field light pole in the top of the 3rd inning. The Storm would never regain the lead as the Rawhide would pile on 4 more runs over the course of the game.
Kobe Robinson had an encouraging relief appearance, going 3.2 innings while striking out 4. Keegan Collett would follow him with 1.1 innings of no-run ball while striking out 4 and not allowing a single hit.
The Storm look to take their first home win tomorrow for Mega Thirsty Thursday as Padres pitcher, Mike Clevinger, will make a relief appearance in Lake Elsinore.
