Zion, IL -The Lake County Fielders did something Friday evening that they hadn't since July 21st; win a game! Lake County took game three in the "Border Battle" series from the Kenosha County Fielders by a score of 9-8 Friday evening.

Lake County was led offensively by their lead-off hitter Herman Petzold. Petzold totaled three singles on the evening, with two RBI's and two runs scored. Catcher Brandon Pearl had three runs scored on the evening to go along with two stolen bases and a single. On an odd note, first baseman David Casey went 0-1 in five plate appearances Friday; tallying four walks and a run scored.

The Fielders gave the starting nod to right-hander Douglas Coe Friday. When Coe showed signs of trouble, Manager Chris Arago went to his bullpen and summoned Matt Atkins. Atkins went the distance and led Lake County to a victory.

Leading the charge for the Kenosha County Fielders was their lead off hitter Paul Pulera. Pulera finished the game 2-3 with 2 RBI's and a run scored.

The "Border Battle" series continues Saturday evening at 7 pm for game 4 at Fielders Stadium in Zion, Illinois. All games can be heard on 1220 AM WKRS, wkrs.com, or at fieldersbaseball.com with Derek Diesner live on the call.
