
Lake Charleston Comeback Tops Captains

(EASTLAKE, OH) â Charleston took the lead from Lake County with three runs in the seventh inning, and went on to win 6-4 Tuesday night at Eastlake Ballpark. The victory comes one night after the Alley Cats gave up a late lead in the game to lose to the Captains Monday.
Scott Dragicevich's two-run single through the left side scored David Corrente and Willie Rivera to give the Cats the lead in the seventh. Charleston tied the game at 4-4 earlier in the inning on an RBI single by David Corrente to score Erik Rico. The Cats scored three runs on five hits in the inning off of losing pitcher Shea Douglas (2-2) who came into the game with a 0.94 ERA.
The late comeback capped a back and forth game. Charleston took the early lead with two runs in the third inning without a hit. Captains starter Jim Ed Warden walked two and hit one in the inning.
The Captains (10-2, 58-24) came back to score four times in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 4-2 lead. Cats starter John Wesley, breezed through four innings, but ran into trouble in the fifth, surrendering the four runs on three hits and two walks.
The Cats (5-6, 33-42) got to within one on a solo homerun to deep leftfield by Jose Yepez in the sixth off of Warden that made it 4-3. It was Yepez's first homerun of the season.
Ryan Costello (2-3) got the win with three scoreless innings of relief. Ramon Mora worked a perfect ninth to pick up his first save.
Charleston is now 5-5 against the South Atlantic League's top team.
Lefty Keith Ramsey (10-3, 2.68 ERA) who leads the league in wins, will face Eric Stephenson (4-4, 4.77 ERA) Wednesday night in game three of the series.
