Los Angeles FC News Release
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) heads back on the road for its first midweek match of the season - a Wednesday night matchup against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Kickoff tomorrow night at BC Place is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on YouTube TV, Univision KVMD, ESPN 710 AM, and 980 AM 'La Mera Mera'.
Following the 2-0 victory over FC Cincinnati in Week 7, LAFC not only extended its unbeaten streak to a Club-record seven matches, but the Club's streak of 13 consecutive goals without conceding is now the third-longest run of interrupted goals in MLS history. The Black & Gold also earned its third consecutive shutout of the season and have now gone 325 minutes without giving up a goal.
LAFC remain atop the MLS standing with a record of 6-0-1, with four of those victories coming against Western Conference opponents. With 19 out of a possible 21 points to start the year, LAFC is tied for the third-best record after the opening seven games of a season.
Meanwhile, Vancouver Whitecaps FC (0-4-2; 2 points), led by former LAFC assistant coach Marc Dos Santos, is still seeking its first victory of the season after starting the year with four losses and two draws. Vancouver is coming off a 1-1 draw against the Chicago Fire this past weekend to earn its second point of 2019.
