The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) travels to face Austin FC in a Western Conference showdown on Friday, Aug 26. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. PT at Q2 Stadium. (TV: ESPN and ESPN Deportes; Radio: 710 AM ESPN / ESPN LA app and 980 AM La Mera Mera).
LAFC became the first team in MLS to qualify for the 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs last Saturday night, needing just 25 games to clinch a postseason berth, tying the Club's own 2019 MLS record for the fewest games played prior to clinching a spot in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.
The Black & Gold's 57 points (18-5-3 regular season record) currently lead the race for the 2022 MLS Supporters Shield. LAFC holds a 3-1-0 lifetime record over the Verde, and are undefeated (2-0) when playing in Austin.
Friday's matchup marks the second match between LAFC and Austin in the 2022 MLS regular season with Austin earning a 2-1 victory over LAFC in the first meeting in May at Banc of California Stadium.
Austin enters the match in second place in the Western Conference with a 14-6-6 record (48 points).

In 2021, LAFC visited Q2 Stadium twice, claiming two wins against the Verde. Overall, LAFC is 3-1 against Austin since 2021.
