Los Angeles FC News Release
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) dropped their third regular season contest of the season as the Club fell 3-2 to the Galaxy on Friday night at Dignity Health Sports Park. Despite the loss, the Club remains in first place in the Supporters' Shield standings with a 14-3-4 record (46 points).
Following his two-goal performance, Carlos Vela became the fourth player in MLS history to record at least 20 goals and 10 assists in one season, and the fastest player ever to score 20 goals to start a campaign. Despite Vela's brace, LAFC would drop all three points after Galaxy forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic netted a hat-trick for the home side.
LAFC returns to Banc of California Stadium next Friday, July 26 when the Black & Gold host reigning MLS Cup champions Atlanta United FC. The first and only meeting of the year between the two sides is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN 710 AM, KFWB 980.
