LAFC Defender Mohamed El-Munir to Undergo Surgery on Friday

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) announced today that defender Mohamed El-Munir will undergo surgery on Friday, July 26 to repair a Zygomatic Arch Fracture suffered during the 3-2 loss against the Galaxy last week.

In his first season with the Black & Gold, El-Munir has appeared in 10 matches (3 starts), scoring his first MLS goal in the 5-1 win over Sporting KC on July 3. The 27-year-old defender was acquired by LAFC this past offseason via trade from Orlando City SC on December 11, 2018.

LAFC (14-3-4; 46 points) returns to Banc of California Stadium this Friday, July 26 against reigning MLS Cup champions, Atlanta United FC. The match is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN 710 AM, KFWB 980.
