
Lacroix and Mitchell Head to Hershey

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Opperations Spencer Carbery announced today that forwards Maxime Lacroix and Garrett Mitchell have been called up to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.
Lacroix skated in two games with the Stingrays this season scoring three assists. The Quebec, Quebec, native split last season between the Stingrays and the Bears recording 10 points (7g, 3a) in 13 games with the Stingrays and 16 points (6g, 10a) in 57 contests for the Bears. A two-time Kelly Cup champion (South Carolina 2009, Cincinnati 2010), Lacroix appeared in 63 games for the Stingrays during the 2008-09 season scoring 33 goals and 31 assists for 64 points and played in all 23 Kelly Cup playoff contests netting 18 points (13g, 5a) as the team captured their ECHL-record third Kelly Cup title.
Mitchell also appeared in two contests with the Stingrays picking up seven penalty minutes. The Regina, Saskatchewan, native recently completed his junior career with the Regina Pats of the WHL (2006-11) gathering 51 goals and 61 assists for 112 points in 264 games. A sixth-round draft pick by the Washington Capitals in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Mitchell served as team captain of the Pats during his final season. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound defenseman also saw AHL action after the 2009-10 and 2010-11 WHL seasons with the Hershey Bears, appearing in three games.
The Stingrays kickoff a five-game road trip starting Saturday, October 22 as they take on the Toledo Walleye at 7:00 p.m. at the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio.
