Atlanta Gladiators News Release
First Pro Win! Gladiator's Coach John Wroblewski had his first professional win Saturday night against the Florida Everblades as Gwinnett posted a 2-1 win in the shootout. Wroblewski was the former assistant coach for the Wheeling Nailers before making his debut on Friday as head coach for Gwinnett.
Milo earns first goal: Justin Milo scored his first goal of the season for Gwinnett (1-1-0) at 8:26 of the first period on Saturday Night.
Rookie picks up first point: Coyotes prospect Scott Fleming logged his first pro point last weekend, picking up an assist on the Gladiators first goal of the season in Friday's 3-2 loss. He also had what would have been the first pro goal of his career waved off on Saturday because of goaltender interference.
11 Round Shootout: Saturday's game turned into a shootout between the two teams resulting in 11 rounds. Both teams went scoreless through the first six rounds. The two goal scorers in regulation scored the first two tallies in round seven (Luc Tardif for FLA and Justin Milo for GWT). Tyler Murovich scored the game-winner in the eleventh round for the Gladiators.
Murovich shoots for the Win: The Glads forward Tyler Murovich, (who played for Wroblewski when he was an assistant at Wheeling) scored the game winner in the eleventh round in Saturday's 2-1 win over Florida. He had 10 points (5 goals, 5 assists) when he was a Nailer last year.
JJ comes out on top: Jeff Jakaitis was stellar in his first start with the Glads, stopping 37 of 38 shots through overtime and denying nine of 11 Everblades in the shootout. He also made a huge stop to keep the game tied late in the third, turning away Blades forward Mike McKenzie on a clean breakaway. Jakaitis currently leads the ECHL in save percentage with a .974 on the season.

Retuning forward Andy Brandt threw a lose puck to the slot that got through to traffic at the 3:35 mark. Scott Fleming picked up his first pro point by adding an assist to set up Brandt on the goal. Leigh Salters beat Cheverie on a break at 14:00 to make it 2-1 and Alex Hutchings capitalized on an odd man situation to put the Blades up 3-1 after two periods. The Gladiators mounted a comeback late in the third with Pat Galivan scoring near the post on the power play at 2:57 to cut the lead to one. Nagle held firm for his first pro win coming away with a 3-2 victory for Florida.
