
Express Win First Game in Team History

Hoffman Estates, IL - The Chicago Express, proud member of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, played the first game in club history on Saturday, October 15, earning a 5-1 victory on the road in Toledo.

Express 5 vs. TOLEDO 1
After a fight between Express LW Tim Spencer and Toledo D Scott Fletcher, the Walleye opened up the scoring at 3:34 of the first period. Chicago answered less than five minutes later, when LW Blair Riley scored the first goal in Chicago Express history at 8:12 and knotted up the contest at 1-1. D Drew Paris gave the Express a lead with a power play goal at 8:52 of the second period, and the Express never looked back. Riley, Paris, F Kyle Ostrow, and C Yannick Tifu all had multiple point nights in the 5-1 Chicago win.
Team Notes:
* The Express played their first game in team history on Saturday, Oct. 15, and earned a win. * LW Blair Riley scored the first goal in Chicago Express History, snapping home a goal 8:12 into the first period on Saturday night. * G Rob Nolan earned the win, stopping 34 of 35 shots. Nolan did not surrender a goal after the 3:34 mark of the first period. * Three of the five goals scored by Chicago were scored by defensemen. * Riley and D Drew Paris both scored two goals in the game. Both of the goals scored by Paris were picked up on the power play.

The Express will open up the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, October 22nd versus the Kalamazoo Wings with a 7:30 p.m. face-off at the Sears Centre Arena. This inaugural game is sure to be a must have ticket, so make sure you have your ticket for this once in a lifetime game!
