A 17-time Serie A champion, AC Milan are one of the biggest and most popular clubs in Europe and throughout the world. Boasting a roster that includes former World Cup winners Gennaro Gattuso, Filippo Inzaghi, Andrea Pirlo, Ronaldinho and many more, the club finished the 2008-09 Serie A season in third place behind only Inter Milan and Juventus. The club enters the 2009-10 campaign with hopes of an 18th Serie A title under the direction of Leonardo, who was named the club's head coach in May 2009.

In addition to their success in Italy, Milan have also found success in European competitions as well, winning the European Cup seven times, including last in 2007 when they defeated Liverpool 2-1 in Athens. Known as the Rossoneri, for their famed Red-and-Black uniforms, Milan are the last club to win the European Cup in consecutive years, lifting the trophy in both 1989 and 1990.
