ROCHESTER, NY - Chad Kuhl matched his longest start of the season with seven innings of one-run work, while seven Tribe batters notched a hit in the Indians' 5-2 rubbermatch victory over Rochester on Thursday at Frontier Field.

The Indians improved to 11-3 at Rochester since 2013.

The matchup pitted two top hurlers against one another. Chad Kuhl (4-1) put his Triple-A-leading 0.99 ERA on the line against Minnesota's No. 2 prospect Jose Berrios (3-1).

Indianapolis (23-22) got to Berrios early, scoring two runs in the top of the first. Three hits were highlighted by an RBI double from Adam Frazier as Indians hitters staked Kuhl to a 2-0 advantage before throwing a pitch.

Red Wings (26-21) center fielder and Twins top prospect Byron Buxton continued his tear, homering for the third straight game and his second in the game's first at bat this series to make it 2-1.

It would be Kuhl's only blemish on the day.

The Indians added on in the third and fourth innings. Moroff doubled for the second time in this series in the third and Josh Bell plated him with an RBI single. In the next inning, Jason Rogers singled and scored on a sac fly to left by Danny Ortiz to make the tally 4-1.

One more run would score for the Indians in the eighth on an RBI double by Willy Garcia.

Cory Luebke relieved Kuhl to start the eighth as the Red Wings managed to score for the first time since the opening frame thanks in large part to a Byron Buxton triple.

The Indians will hit the road to face Pawtucket Friday night at 7:05 p.m.
