Pigs Look to Avoid Sweep in Pawtucket

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will look to avoid the sweep against the Pawtucket Red Sox on Thursday morning. First pitch from McCoy Stadium is slated for 11:05 a.m.

RHP Jake Thompson (2-4, 3.33) will be on the bump for the Pigs in the series finale. Thompson got a no-decision on Friday vs. Toledo when he gave up three runs on five hits while walking one and fanning eight in 8.0 IP. In his last 4 GS, the right-hander is 1-1 with a 1.33 ERA. On May 3 vs. Pawtucket, Thompson allowed one earned runs on two hits over seven innings of work.

LHP Henry Owens (3-1, 2.57) gets the ball for the PawSox on Thursday morning. The southpaw got a no-decision on Friday at Buffalo after allowing one run on four hits to go along with five walks and three strikeouts over five innings of work. In three career starts against the IronPigs, Owens has posted a 2.11 ERA.

After tossing a scoreless inning on Wednesday night, Pigs RHP Luis Garcia has not allowed an earned run over his last eight innings of work. In that time, Garcia is 2-0 and has allowed two hits while walking two and fanning seven in the 8.0 IP.
