RHP Drew Hutchison (0-2, 2.78) vs. RHP Jarrett Grube (0-1, 2.83)

Radio: ESPN 1520 AM, Bisons Radio Network

Today's Game

This morning, the Bisons take on the Clippers in the finale of a three-game series from Huntington Park (11:05 a.m.). Buffalo is 13-5 in their last 18 games for a .722 winning pct. since May 7. The Herd is two games over the .500 mark (24-22) for the first time this season and is tied with Louisville (14) for the most road wins in the IL.

Last Game (BUF 2, COL 0)

RHP Chris Leroux allowed five hits and no walks in seven shutout innings to lead the Herd to its third straight win, 2-0 over the Clippers. RHP Ryan Tepera retired all six batters he faced for his fourth save of the season. Buffalo scored their runs on an RBI-single from INF Matt Dominguez and OF Junior Lake's fourth home run of the year.

IL North

Entering play today, all six teams in the IL North division have records of .500 or better. That's the main reason the Bisons have gained just a half game on 1st place despite going 6-1 in seven games since May 18. The Herd is now 8-4 against non-divisional opponents.

vs. Columbus (1-0)

The Bisons will host the Clippers May 30-June 1 for the Coca-Cola Field-portion of their season series. Buffalo has won the season series each of the last four years, with a 4-3 record in 2015. The Bisons are 18-11 (.621) all time against the Clippers at Huntington Park.

Drew Hutchison

RHP Drew Hutchison is winless in eight starts this year despite a sub-three ERA (2.78). He allowed just one run on two hits in seven innings last Friday against Pawtucket, but the Bisons lost a 5-1 lead before winning 6-5 in walk-off fashion. Hutchison has not allowed more than five hits in any of his four starts this month with a .198 average against in May. The righty has also posted a 1.93 ERA after the 2nd inning.

Junior Lake

OF Junior Lake is 12 for his last 33 at the plate for a .363 average since May 15. During that nine-game stretch, Lake has added three doubles, two home runs five RBI and six runs scored. Lake has hit almost 100 points better in May (.260) than he did in April (.163).

Bisons Bits

The Bisons are tied for 6th in the IL with five shutouts this season (5-4). The Herd was just 13-20 in shutout games last season...INF Jesus Montero brings a five-game hit streak into today's game. He has averaged .400 (8-20) with two doubles, a home run and four RBI since May 19...The Bisons 17 saves are three more than any other IL pitching staff. Fifteen of those saves belong to RHP Ryan Tepera (4), RHP Dustin Antolin (5) and former Bisons RHP David Aardsma (6).

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (23-25) doubled up the Yankees, 8-4 on Wednesday night. C Russell Martin hit a pair of home runs, his first longballs of the season. OF Michael Saunders also went deep. RHP Marco Estrada improved to 2-2 on the season by allowing just three runs in seven innings of work. Toronto takes on New York at Yankee Stadium today at 4:05 p.m.
