Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release

Joe Koshansky hit the first cycle of his professional career and Colorado Springs defeated Tacoma for the second straight night at Security Service Field, 11-4 in front of 4,235 fans.

Koshansky, who was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle on May 8 against Round Rock, already had a single, a double and a home run when he came to the plate in the eighth inning. A rocket off the centerfield wall proved to be hit far enough to allow the big first baseman enough time to reach third base for his fourth career triple and first career cycle. Koshansky finished the night 4-for-5 with four RBI.

John Koronka continued to be steady for the Sky Sox. The lefty allowed four runs on eight hits in six innings while picking up his team-high fifth win of the season.

After a 3-for-29 slump saw his batting average drop from .386 to .313, Sky Sox catcher Edwin Bellorin busted out Friday with a 3-for-5 performance. He also collected three RBI in the rout.

Robert Rohrbaugh (3-4) picked up the loss for Tacoma, tossing five innings and allowing five earned runs and nine hits.

The Sky Sox and Rainiers continue their series Sunday at 1:05 PM. Glendon Rusch (0-0, 0.00) makes his second start of the season for the Sky Sox while Sean White (3-3, 4.50) gets the call for Tacoma.
