All-Star Update

Puhalski, Venedam, Drouin and Goodwin join Stars in Adirondack (Chaulk & Kean stay home)

The original Komet All-Stars this year after the voting was concluded were head coach Greg Puhalski, forwards Colin Chaulk, Sean Venedam and Jonathan Goodwin and defenseman Jason Kean. Injuries will keep Chaulk and Kean at home. Komet skater P.C. Drouin will join his teammates on the Team Mountain Dew All-Star roster as a replacement to Quad City's Jason Deskins due to injury. The Adirondack Frostbite will host the festivities this year at the Glen Falls Civic Center with the faceoff scheduled for 7:30 tonight. It would have been Chaulk's 2nd consecutive trip to the league's classic affair after appearing with the UHL Western Conference All Stars last season and his 2nd straight All-Star start had he not been injured in the Komet's home game Saturday night against Rockford. Komet defenseman Jason Kean will also miss the All-Star game due to injury and will be replaced by Rockford's Steve Pelletier.

Komet fan wins $11,111.....Friday night Fort Wayne fan Jeremy Penrod of Bluffton, Indiana, won $11,111 from One Eleven Design when Jonathan Goodwin scored the Komet's 3rd goal of the game with 1 minute, 11 seconds remaining in the 3rd period. Penrod's name was chosen at random among the many Komet fans registered prior to the game. It was the 102nd game of the One Eleven Design contest spanning over the last 2 1/2 seasons. The contest will continue at Komet home games. The next Komet home game is Saturday, Feb. 5 against the Quad City Mallards at 7:30pm.
